The following individuals are currently Trustees of XDI.ORG.Dr. Bill Washburn - Chairman
Bill Washburn served as president and managing director of XNSORG and as an ex officio member of the XNSORG board of directors. He has been a strategist, evangelist, and executive team leader in computing and Internet advancement for nearly 20 years. Dr. Washburn was on the teams that built some of the early prototype networks such the first Stanford University Network, the NSFnet regional network WestNet, and Colorado SuperNet.
He was the first executive director of CIX (the Commercial Internet exchange) and helped convince the U.S. Government to allow commercial use of the Internet. Dr. Washburn subsequently served as Senior VP for Internet Business Development at Mecklermedia where the Internet World tradeshows and publications were created and extended around the world. Bill has served on executive teams and advisory boards for numerous Internet companies over that last ten years and was previously chief policy officer, chief evangelist, and privacy officer at RealNames Corporation. He has a masters degree in ethics and a Ph.D. in policy analysis -- both from Stanford University.
Geoffrey Strongin
Geoffrey Strongin serves as the Platform Security Architect for Advanced Micro Devices. In this role he contributes to the security and privacy aspects of AMD's future PC Platforms. An award winning designer and holder of over 30 patents, he also serves as a member of the board and Vice-President of the Trusted Computing Group. Mr Strongin also serves as the co-chiar of the OASIS XDI Technical Committe and as a member of the board of the International Security Trust and Privacy Alliance.
Nat Sakimura
Nat Sakimura is a senior researcher at Nomura Research Institute, Ltd., Japan's leading think-tank and systems integrator. He is currently responsible for the evaluation of emerging technologies and turning them into business. Besides his career at NRI, Nat has also taught at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Nat holds Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hitotsubashi University and Master's degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Owen Davis
Owen Davis is a Cofounder and President of Identity Commons. He studied sustainable communities and electrical engineering in college, was a principal in two (founder of one) successful high-tech companies and has been a business and computer consultant. Owen has been working since December of 2000 to learn and apply the principles of distributive governance pioneered at VISA to create a socially beneficial commercial venture. The Identity Commons is the result of this effort.
Jaco Aizenman
Jaco Aizenman is contributing to the development Virtual Rights, a new set of Human Rights. He is also the founder and Consortium Development Coordinator of the Free Software Consortium that created the Free Software Act, a new legislation that can protect FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) and the CEO of a small internet satellite access provider.
Mr. Aizenman has worked extensively on Information and Communication Technologies for human development. Among others he had worked on the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank Development Gateway, Lincos, and Gilat. He also led the universalization of the email and website account in Costa Rica.
